"The lights in other's houses"

Didn't know anything about the author and only had a few opinions about the book, which I read on the internet. This Italian author made me fall in love by the story, the main character, the way she tells the story.
The ending was, in my opinion, unpredictable; not because we couldn't see this coming, but because there are so many things that can happen, that we don't think about the most simple solutions.
A book about a child, and later a teenager, who grows up in front of our eyes. A book about family; about values, about feelings. But it isn't just another book about a teenager trying to find her own identity; it's a book about growing up, getting into trouble, finding things about ourselves, which is written with originality and moved my emotions.
